Description: Based on the movie version of the L. Frank Baum Story, The Wizard of Oz, the audience will find Dorothy's journey through the Land of Oz even more special when brought to life through the language of dance.

The ballet uses an array of carefully selected music from classical ballets, recent films, and from modern composers such as Leroy Anderson. The characters come to life with mimed antics and various dance movements. In the ballet stage production, the scarecrow is all the more fun, the witch all the more terrifying, and the tin man all the more endearing. The elaborate staging includes video clips that are shown periodically throughout the show. The clips of the Kansas City twister, the Great and Powerful Oz, and the field of Red Poppies reinforce the storyline being interpreted by the dancers.

The audience will see contemporary, modern, as well as classical ballet. With many impressive theatrics this story comes to life on the RRCA Stage once again - This time spoken with beautiful music and innovative dance. This is a wonderful ballet that children and adults of all ages will enjoy.
